Imagine a PhD math coach with 10 years experience of working 1 on 1 with kids sitting in your living room working with your child and on your schedule. Now imagine you sitting next to your child watching the interaction and savoring the ahaa moments.
This is now possible even when you live a thousand miles away and you're at work when your child is doing homework. Please watch a short clip below where a 7th grader "gets" a key concept in graphing a 2 variable algebraic equation...
The following clip is an extended version of above where Dr. Pan teaches Alexa a quicker way to graph a 2 variable equation.
In the last clip, Dr. Pan teaches Byron (a 4th grader) how to do long division.
If you would like Dr. Pan to work with your child, all you need is a high speed Internet connection, a laptop computer with a webcam and a $70 pen tablet.
To get started, please fill out a short form below and Dr. Pan will email back within 1 business day with a snapshot assessment of your child's math and more information on the online math coaching program. For answers to frequently asked questions, please see below the form.
What is your educational background?
I have a PhD from the University of Arizona in Optical Sciences, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
What kind of teaching experience do you have?
I taught classes at Universities of Arizona and Wisconsin and won teaching awards at both. I taught math at Pima Community College in Tucson and made educational videos at Hewlett Packard Corp.. For the last ten years I have been working full-time 1-on-1 with students of all academic abilities and math levels.
Why should I consider you instead of a tutor?
This is my full time job instead of a side occupation. I take my work very seriously and have results to back it up.
How do you compare to the low cost online tutors from India?
I live in Arizona and know the US education system and students inside-out. I know the areas that students get stuck at and have most of the textbooks that students use on my shelf. You can always send me email and reach me on the phone.
How does online math coaching compare with in-person?
The amount of material it would take me to cover 1 hour in-person takes about 1 hour 15 minutes online. This is more than offset by the convenience to the family and the elimination of driving time.
